The project REVIR (acronym Realitat – Virtualitat) consists of a set of experimental science workshops carried out in a laboratory computerized of UAB and offered to high schools during school hours. Today, we offer 15 different workshops for physics, chemistry and biology, targeting class groups and imparted by specialized instructors in each area. These workshops are aimed at students of ESO and Batxillerat and have a duration of three to four hours per session.
All sessions REVIR are designed to CRECIM professors and researchers expert in science didactics. In addition, sessions are related to various issues of social and scientific relevance to the students apply scientific knowledge current different contexts and reflect on the role of science in society.
All REVIR practices using various technologies, such as data collection systems in real time (digital sensors, magnifying glasses or phones), simulations, specific programs for science education (Algodoo, Audacity, Inspiration, etc.) and especially the digital whiteboard, used to promote participatory interaction among students.
The REVIR experience began in December 2003 and until now has been more than 15.000 students, with an increasing number of participants along the courses.
